Yiddish is the Germanic-based language spoken by most Jews in the world for a millennium and has been the vehicle for an as-yet unparalleled global Jewish artistic expression. In this program, Miri Koral, Founding Director of the California Institute for Yiddish Culture and Language, will discuss what makes this 1,000-year-old language so unique and what is being done to safeguard it.
